Hey {{first_name|Bro}},

If you're an old-school animation and sci-fi fan, then you obviously know “The Avengers”.

But what's unique about them?

Their powers? Their costumes? Or the way they washed Thanos in Endgame?

None of them.

The funny thing is, their writer and marketing team know exactly how to capture people's attention with compelling storytelling, which will encourage them to buy their products.

And Marvel Studios doesn't make its majority of money from movie tickets and box office hits.

But they sell merchandise related to these superstar heroes, which sells in millions(Capital "M").

Cause the consumers want to behave, act and sometimes even dress like their favourite superheroes just to feel better.

That’s exactly where marvel apply it’s "Publicly-Unspoken" secret:

“Don’t sell movies. Sell identities.”

When you buy an Capitan america T-shirt, you're not buying fabric. You're buying the feeling of being a warrior, a leader of the team and being the old school man.

Similar to every character which represents something people want to BE:

Iron Man = "Genius, billionaire, playboy, philanthropist!"

Black Widow = “Badass Survivor”

Thor = “Powerful Among All”

The Trailers, toys, games, clothing, and posters that Marvel sells? A consumer can't escape from it.

And the HUGE copywriting lesson here is:

“Don't just sell features. Sell identity.”

Cause people don't buy products, they buy who they'll become. That's what Marvel knows.

So next time you write copy, ask yourself:

"What identity am I selling?"

Answer that, and you'll print money like Marvel, {{first_name|Bro}}.
