Yo,
Any guess what the Festival of Light is?
You might be thinking of Christmas. But I'm not talking about Christmas.
It's an Indian festival, but people celebrate it worldwide.
It's called Diwali. Yeah, the firecracker one.
In the city, you'll have firecrackers all around for almost a day, which will just shock you.
About 50% of my list is from outside India. You might know about Diwali too, because it's so famous.
But do you know why it's celebrated?
And how it's used in marketing to make more sales?
Let me tell you….
Almost 2,300 years ago, Lord Rama won the war against the demon king Ravana, who had kidnapped his wife Sita.
When Rama returned home to his kingdom, the people celebrated and welcomed him by lighting rows of diyas, clay lamps like this:

That day became Diwali.
But today, most people don't celebrate Diwali to remember that history.
It has become more commercial, like firecrackers, deals, promotions, and offers.
And that's a good thing for businesses. Cause every festival is a marketing calendar.
It's the same around the world: Halloween, Black Friday at the end of November, Christmas, then New Year.
Offers and promotions never stop…
But how you use each one matters, and never forget to celebrate it too.

Yes, that Arnold Schwarzenegger.
He has a newsletter on beehiiv. So do Codie Sanchez, Jay Shetty, David Begnaud, Colin & Samir, and Joanna Stern.
They could publish just about anywhere. They chose beehiiv to build a direct connection with the people who want to hear from them most. And you can do the same, whether you’re world-famous or just at the start of your plan for world domination.
