Hey {{first_name|Bro}},
Yesterday I was walking beside the riverside. With a golden sunset. And fresh air.
But the interesting part wasn't the view. It was the small talk I had with people during the walk, almost every time.
And you can see it’s the hospitality and kindness in people, especially in tier 3 cities or country side of anywhere in the world. But everyone isn't kind.
Cause Yesterday, three guys called me on that road.
The first guy, an uncle in his 40s, sits outside his house with his family. Always asks the same thing.
"What's the time?"
I said, "It's 5:55"
He smiles. I smile. (No homo lol)
The second guy is a farmer coming back with his cow almost every single day at the same time I go out for a walk.
The farmer: "Son, where are you going?"
Me: "Just having a walk."
He smiles. I smile.
And his Cows were making noise in the background:

It feels like we are saying bye to each other. And I touch one of the cow's heads.
Third, some kids: "Where are you going, brotha?"
I said, "Gym."
And they don't care. They're just jealous and more judgmental about my walk and actions, which they don't have the balls to do.
Somehow they know I make content too, so that's what made them hate me too, cause I am doing something other than them.
But who cares? They're just killing my time and attention. So, I leave them with a neutral reaction.
Because they're just noise in these small talks.
And that's exactly what happens in copywriting.
You add small talk in your copy, thinking it builds a connection and sounds friendly.
But it's just noise.
For example:
"Hey there, hope this email finds you well, and you're having an amazing day so far."
"I know you're busy, so I'll keep this short, but first let me tell you why I'm writing this."
"Quick question before we get started, did you catch the game last night?"
Nobody cares!
They didn't open your email to hear about your day. They opened it to solve a problem and find what's in it for them.
Like a bad copy sounds like the uncle asking for time when he has a watch.
Good copy sounds like someone who respects your attention.
So, just cut the small talk. And get to the point.
