The reason I'm saying it: every other day I'm getting a LEAD.
I shouldn't call it a lead. It's more like: "Hey, can you be our CMO?" or "Hey, can you be a co-founder in our startup?"
Bro, you are not skilled yet. And you're asking me to do all the heavy work for you?
I will not do that.
If you want to work with me, work as a client with my agency, as a business.
I don't want to put myself into your business as an individual until you are good enough and your idea is good enough.
Like the SAAS guy who became my first client.
His energy was good; the way he speaks was good.
He is direct and to the point.
All the other people I've met so far don't have that energy. And I'll say it again, as I said in one of my earlier emails:
“Focus on learning one skill for at least a year. Give everything to it. Then use that skill to build something”.
Because when you are good at a skill, the field you build in will be better for you.
If you are starting a startup from zero, knowing nothing, you will struggle a lot, because a startup needs a variety of skills.
It's the same for an agency.
I'm a solo founder; before this, I was doing writing, editing for personal brand, and content planning.
So I know how social media works.
But when it comes to marketing for other businesses, I'm still in the exploration phase, because every other day I get DMs like: "Hey, I do this business, I do that business."
So I have to research the business first, then pitch accordingly.
Sales structure is the same everywhere. But it changes a little with the needs of the business.
So prepare yourself for every situation. But focus on one skill first.
When you are good enough at it, move to the next.
