Yo,

I entered a bus with my Jonas Blue playlist and got the last right corner seat of the bus.

It was an AC bus. From the window, I can see everything.

Until that one man comes in… which changed my whole journey.

But why am I telling you this?

Cause the business lessons and knowledge I got from him in the truck and transportation field, maybe no CEO can give them if they don't know them personally.

So, back to the incident.

He came to me with his attire: a gamcha and a classic indian costume, and sat beside me. He was looking at me again and again, and he was talking too loudly with the conductor.

So he asked, "Son, what song are you listening to?"

I said: "Ganapati Bappa Moriya, Paresaan kare mujhe choriya." Thank God it's a Hindi song, or he would say something else lol.

Then he tried to touch me and said, "Let me hear too," which made me hell uncomfortable.

And that's common in India, where people don't know how to behave.

Somehow, it will change in 20-30 years.

Then he touched me again and said, "You're such a cute guy. What's your age?"

Me in a surprising manner: "I am 20, uncle."

But I denied giving him my earpiece. Then I asked, "What's your occupation? What's your job?"

He: "I am a truck driver."

Then my brain wired open, and I thought, "Let me know about his business and how things work."

So my first question: "How many years have you been driving?"

"16 years."

So my 2nd question was, "What's the worst and best moment in your truck driving history?"

His answer:

Both moments came from the coronavirus time when everything was restricted.

The worst was that the petrol ran out, and he was in a remote village for 2 days without drinking any water but having enough food.

Cause it was a mountain area, and once the delivery agreement was done, he couldn't sit.

He has to go. And he finally went on the 3rd day by getting petrol from someone he called and shipped the delivery.

And the best moment for him was because of the lockdown. There were no people who could travel from one place to another, but drivers could. So there's a GF and BF who ran to Nashik and wanted to come to our state. There was no way.

So he helped them. While the police were chasing, he hid from them.

Then I asked, "How much money do you make?"

"20,000 rupees per trip, and I do around 7-10 trips every month, which takes me 18-19 days of driving, around 2,00,000 rupees"

I said, it’s more than any average corporate guy.

When I said this, two people with corporate dress looked at us, surprisingly lol.

And the funny thing is, he gets petrol money from the owner of the truck, who has a huge 101-truck network on his own.

So he is in full profit while he was shipping fruits, which is highly profitable in the shipping industry.

Then I talked about family and the concern of AI in driving too.

He said, "Let's see what happens. Now my family and I are happy. If anything, let's see."

But right now, the Flipkart and Amazon-like giants are killing these guys' business. That's what he mentioned as a problem.

Also, AI is coming.

Then my bus stop came.

I said, "Give me the side. I will arrive at this stop."

He said again, "Cute boy," and asked my name. And I asked his name, had a handshake, and said goodbye.

And one thing I learned here: You can learn from literally every person in the world, even a kid.

So make sure to open up, talk, and if you find he is a genuine, kind guy who knows how to behave, stay.

Talk and get his experience.
